The Marseillaise for Paul Barussaud in the FEI Jumping Ponies’Trophy - Prix CWD!
Although only 12 years old, Paul Barussaud made short work of this class against the clock, with 1.25m obstacles. Riding his faithful pony, Vahiné de Kergroix, he completed the fastest clear round in 58"97. The young rider from Gironde was taking part in the FEI Jumping Ponies' Trophy for the first time, and was delighted with his performance: "I arrived here as an outsider because my pony has just started competing again after a long break due to injury. She's got a lot of spirit and I'm delighted to see her back to her best. I'd really like to thank Olivier Bost (French national Pony coach) for allowing me to come and compete in Lyon."
The podium was completed by the young Dutch rider Bethany Vos with Nashville B (60''77) and Great Britain's Izabella Rogers with Queen Star (60''78).
The ponies will be back in the international arena tomorrow for their Grand Prix at 1.15pm.
