The Pony Games are back, with a first
It was an eagerly-awaited return. The return of the Pony Games at Equita Lyon. The Pony Games were not back at Equita Lyon as a demonstration event this year, as they were ten years ago, but as an actual competition. For the first time, some forty riders from the Rhône-Alpes region were invited to take part in the final of the Regional Pony Games Open. A great showcase for this discipline which combines "team spirit, dexterity and, above all, complicity with the pony", explains Valentin Pieau, Head of the Pony Games commission on the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Regional Equestrian Committee. Although the Pony games are open to any age, they are exclusively for pony riders. "Being present at Equita Lyon is an opportunity to show that this discipline is accessible to everyone. In the finals, we have riders from 7 to 55 years old", says Valentin Pieau. "There are about twenty clubs in the region that take part in Pony Games competitions. The riders include those who recently represented the French team," he adds.
