RIDERS FROM AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES INVITED TO THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA FOR THE TOP 10

28 October 2021

This afternoon, the international arena at Equita opened its doors to the region's riders for the traditional Top 10 of the Comité Régional d’Equitation Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Equestrian Committee). Having qualified during the Regional Championships organised at the Parc du Cheval in Chazey-sur-Ain at the end of August, the ten best riders in the Amateur 2, Amateur 1, Elite and Majors 2 and Majors 1 categories had the honour of riding in the arena that will host the world's top riders as of tomorrow in the CSI5*. In their class over two legs, the first of which took place yesterday morning, the objective was clear: complete the fastest double clear round and reach first place on the podium.

The first to achieve this was Claude Duchamp from Isère, who won the Majors 1 category while participating for the first time in this great event. The next was Marianne Widmer, the Ain département, competing in the Majors 2 category.

Following their elders, the Amateur 2 riders entered the arena. Finally, the junior rider Fiona Grosjean, from Ecuries Saint-Amour, in Haute-Savoie, won this exciting category.

Already crowned Regional Champion last August, Adélaïde Dolbeau, riding her faithful KLC Cassopiée, made it two in a row by winning the Top 10 Amateur 1 category today. Being particularly attached to Equita and a former volunteer with the show's organisation, the rider from the Ollagnons stables in the Rhône département could not hide her emotion when she stood on the top step of the podium.

Taking advantage of a mistake made by Camille Seys, who was in the lead after yesterday's first round, Bryan Obadia finally won in the Elite Amateurs category.

After this afternoon of regional events, all the riders showed their gratitude for the warm welcome they receive each year from Sylvie Robert's team and the active contribution of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Equestrian Committee.
